Zapamiętaj sobie....
.... dzisiaj jest Dzień Kobiet....:-) będzie.. 8 marca, ale tradycyjnie dzisiaj w polskich miastach odbyły się Manify.
Miałam okazję uczestniczyć w Manifie w Warszawie w 2009.
Remember.. that today is the Womens' Day... these are words of popular communist song in Poland some years ago when the 8th of March was celebrated as all Womens' Day, every woman would get flowers from collegues at work, from family members at home, from Party officials. The whole Poland would stop for at least half a day and some parties tended to finish late at night.
In new, modern Poland women felt being rather reigned by politicians but not listened to. Today in several Polish cities manifestations called MANIFAs took place, events organised by feminist movement Womens' Cooperation, nurses and teachers trade unions and other organisations fighting for womens' rights. MANIFAs get bigger and bigger every year and their image changes from little happenings of crazy feminists to huge event gathering more and more people. Also those on the far right side of the political scene -- All Poland Youth -- building always a contra-manifestation. The group is a youth recruitment field for one of the most xenophobic and conservative parties in Poland refusing modern women rights and laws guaranteeing equal pay, access to abortion, enhancing womens' chances to enter the job market and maintain their jobs (access to kindergartens, part-time job, tax solutions, etc.).
